Are You Ready to Develop Technology for the Efficient Use of Water Resources?
Hosted by Kapsül Technology Platform, and organized in cooperation with the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Industry and Technology and the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the “Water Hackathon”, to be held in Konya on January 29–30, 2026, invites you to develop innovative solutions in the fields of smart irrigation and water efficiency!
What is the Water Hackathon?
The Water Hackathon is a mentorship-supported and award-winning hackathon event where university students develop data-driven and applicable technological solutions to real-world problems.
Participating student teams will have the opportunity to develop technology-focused, applicable, and sustainable solutions under the themes of smart irrigation and water efficiency, thereby gaining environmental awareness and producing projects that will shape the future of water technologies.
The hackathon also aims to strengthen a culture of knowledge sharing and collaboration by bringing together the public sector, private sector, and entrepreneurs.
Who Can Apply?
- Associate, undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students from universities across Türkiye,
- Teams must consist of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 members,
- Projects must be original and must not have received any awards in previous competitions,

Support Provided by the Program
- Meals during the event will be provided by the organization,
- Transportation costs of teams coming from outside the city will be covered,
- Access to GIS datasets and technical resources will be provided.
Special Additional Support for BAU Students!
Bahçeşehir University students who apply to the competition will have the opportunity to benefit from the following privileges within the scope of BAU Additional Supports:
- Access to incubation programs and supports suitable for the maturity level of the business idea within BAU Hub Incubation Center,
- One-on-one mentorship from experts in their fields,
- Intellectual and industrial property rights (patents, trademarks, etc.) support in cooperation with BAUTTO,
- Direct access to dozens of companies and business idea validation support through Bahçeşehir University’s extensive business network,
- PR and visibility support,
- For eligible teams, company formation and access to capital support through BAU’s role as an implementing organization of the TÜBİTAK 1812 Investment-Based BİGG Program (BIGG),
- Prototyping and accommodation support provided by BAU for projects selected through BAU Hub.
*Prototyping support will be provided to student teams that apply to the competition and rank among the winners.
