What is BUG LAB?

BUG Lab (Bahçeşehir University Game Lab) is one of the key institutions contributing to the revitalization and growth of the independent game sector in Turkey. It established the country’s first Game Design Master’s program (Master BUG) and the Bachelor’s program in Digital Game Design (BUG Jr). Additionally, it encompasses the European game scene activity center, BUG Berlin, the game production facility, BUG Pro, and the pre-incubation center for various game projects, BUG Kitchen

Nedir bu BUG Lab?

BUG Lab (Bahçeşehir Üniversitesi Oyun Laboratuvarı), Türkiye’de ilk olma özelliği taşıyan Oyun Tasarımı Yüksek Lisans (Master BUG) programı ve Dijital Oyun Tasarımı Lisans (BUG Jr) programlarının kurulmasına; çatısı altında bulunan Avrupa oyun sahnesi aktivite merkezi BUG Berlin, oyun üretimhanesi BUG Pro ve çeşitli oyun projeleri için ön kuluçka merkezi görevi üstlenen BUG Kitchen oluşumlarıyla birlikte, Türkiye bağımsız oyun sektörünün canlanması ve büyümesine katkı sağlayan en önemli kurumlardan bir tanesidir.

We equip teams that are either in the process of becoming incorporated or looking to grow their ventures with critical knowledge essential for the development and lifecycle of a startup, including business development, team management, finance, monetization, publishing, marketing, legal aspects, and investor presentation preparation. Pre-Incubation

Pre-Incubation Teams that have developed their first prototype for their game industry initiative but have not yet formalized as a company.

Incubation

Incubation Teams that have either formalized as a company or are in the process of doing so, and have their MVP (Minimum Viable Product) ready.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I am under 18, can I still participate?
– Only people 18+ can apply to the program.

Can we apply with a business idea related to the gaming industry but not a game?
– Yes, once your business idea specifics have been reviewed and approved, you may join the incubation and post-incubation teams.

How is the program process?

– After your application are evaluated in our council you are invited for your pitch deck presentation. The team who have passed this step are accepted for available program.

Is it necessary to pay to enroll in the program?

– The teams who have accepted the pre-incubation do not pay any fees. Start-ups which are accepted our Incubation programs have opportunity appropriate open/closed office renting and collaboration models.

Can I make an application individually?
– We accept applications from teams consisting of at least 2 members.

When could I apply?
– You can always apply.

Can I apply to the program with any type of game?

– You can apply with any type of game project that can bring new and original value to the gaming industry. We support projects ranging from long-term projects that can be defined as casual at minimum, to larger productions.

Do you provide a workspace? – We offer open office space for pre-incubation teams and both open and closed office options for incubation and post-incubation teams.

Are we required to work in the office? – We offer hybrid working conditions.

What stage does my game idea need to be in for me to apply?

– Teams are required to apply with a playable prototype.

We are working on a game as a team, but we have not established a company yet. Can we still apply?

– You can apply to our pre-incubation program.
